A two-door commode with an arched front, a deeply corrugated and shaped apron on cabriole legs. Diagonal side columns, which curl up at the top ends. Their lower ends match beautifully with the commode’s cabriole legs, of which the shape is so typical for Transition furniture. The commode’s side panels feature wave bands. The ormolu bronze fittings consist of a gilded apron piece, two escutcheons on the doors, sabots and corner mounts on the front legs. The additional gilt mounts on the front cabriole legs emphasize the ingeniously designed corner construction.

The rich decoration of the chest of drawers is exquisite, thanks to the ingenious and imaginative use of the different types of wood. The doors and the sides of the commode with their reverse diamond veneered inner panels have medallions in the centre that hang from bows, the frame adorned along with curling acanthus leaves. The medallions on the facade each feature a vase filled with seven flowers. The vases are placed on a round tabletop and are shaped as a rocaille, above which the vase flares out with beautifully arranged floral sprays.

The sides of the commode also have inner panels with reversed diamond veneer. The medallion on the left is decorated with a cup and saucer, the right panel with a basket with dredgers. The depictions of tableware suggest that the commode was made for a dining room. The door liner and sides of the doors, as well as the front corners of the sides, are decorated with a marquetry of "puzzle pieces" within an elongated panel framed by palmwood trimmings. The diagonal columns are decorated with an oval with fluting and waved banding.
