German Gilt Copper Box

The lid and the base of the box is framed with a repetitive motive. The four corners are engraved with vases on a base. All sides of the box, including the bottom, are engraved with italianized landscapes. The representations are presented as framed pictures.
Bottom:
A landscape with hills, shrubs a tree and on the left an edifice.
Top:
A landscape with trees, edifices and two figures.
Front:
A landscape with a reeded lake, on the left a tree and on the right edifices.
Back:
A landscape with an edifice in the middle, trees on the right and a shrubbed hill on the left.
Sides:
Left; shrubbery, Right; a tree
