The clockwork is signed: Baily l’Aîné, à Paris
This refers to Joachim Bailly who worked at the rue Saint-Honoré from 1749 to 1759.
Clockwork with 14 day going train and striking train. The dial consists of 25 enameled cartouches with Roman hour indication and minutes in Arabic numerals.
Both the housing and the bracket are signed: A. Gosselin
Antoine Gosselin gave proof of his mastership on july 9. 1752 and from that moment on until the end of the 18th century he worked at the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
The housing has an oak frame, covered with horn on green paper and brass fittings. Rich decoration with ormolu bronze rococo ornaments.
